My friends and I do a similar Music Club/Album exchange where 1 person shares 1 album every two weeks. Then we all meet to talk about it, and the next person gets to make the pick for the following 2 weeks. Very fun!

I love it. Such a simple thing but great in so many ways. What was the last pick?

Last pick was NNAMDÏ - Please Have A Seat (very good!!), and the current pick is Closure in Moscow - Soft Hell.

I’ll have to check out NNAMDÏ, as I’m not familiar. I vaguely remember meeting the Closure in Moscow guys a lifetime ago in Australia. I believe they were just getting started at the time. I remember them being really kind and really funny. I’ll have to revisit their stuff too.

I remember not loving the first CiM record because it was a little too copycat-y of Mars Volta/Circa. But they really changed it up on their second record - Pink Lemonade, which is real real good (really leaning into their own version of prog & soul), and this new album is good but so far not hitting me the same.
